Each Tute lesson is delivered live in our online classroom.
Once you receive your login details, getting started is easy:
1. Log in from the Tute homepage using the username and password provided.
2. Click on ‘Timetable', then select your lesson. Your teacher will be there waiting to start the session.
3. Your teacher will guide you through everything, share resources on the screen, set activities, and make learning fun and interactive.
4. You’ll find lots of interactive features in your lessons. You can choose to speak during the lesson, but if you prefer not to, you can use the chat function to write messages
This allows you to participate in a way that feels comfortable for you. If you have a question but don’t want to ask it in front of everyone, you can send a private message to your teacher. There are also emojis, polls, and other tools to help you engage with the lesson. Plus, you can watch recordings of your lessons later, which is great for revising or just refreshing your memory.
Yes, usually about another 10. We encourage our students to work together and, of course, we expect them to be respectful of each other.
At the beginning of your lesson, you will turn your webcam on briefly and only the teacher will be able to see you. Once your teacher has seen you are ready to learn you will turn your webcam off. Your teacher won’t be able to see you during your lesson, but you’ll be able to see and hear your teacher, who will be using their webcam.
The playback function is only available to students who are enrolled to the lesson, however if you attended the live lesson with your camera on, you will be visible to any student who accesses the playback
Yes! All Tute lessons are taught by real, qualified teachers who follow the national curriculum. They’re committed to helping you make progress in a safe and supportive environment. You’ll call your teacher by their first name, and they’ll be there to guide you in every lesson.
Your lessons will follow a timetable that you can view once you log in.
This depends on what you’re studying. Your teacher will let you know if there’s any work to complete outside of your live lessons.
You’ll gain a lot from your Tute lessons! Beyond academic learning, our teachers focus on building your confidence and helping you flourish in your studies.
Be prepared: Make sure your device is ready to go before your lesson starts, and that you have a headset if needed.
Attend regularly: Coming to all your lessons on time will really help you make progress.
Use playback: The playback feature is great for revisiting lesson content and can be a helpful tool when revising.
